Nigerian army relocates over 200 female soldiers from Maiduguri in anticipation of Boko Haram attack
The sources said there was heightened apprehension about an impending attack, hence the decision to reassign female soldiers to Nigeria's capital. The military action also stemmed from the death of five female soldiers and the abduction of another four by Boko Haram militants when they attacked a military base in Baga a few weeks ago.
Following recent intelligence indicating that Boko Haram militants were strategizing on a fierce offensive to capture Maiduguri before the February 14 elections, the army moved more than 70 female soldiers last week.
One of our sources revealed that 146 more female soldiers had been moved to Maiduguri airport, where they are awaiting airlift to Abuja. The source said that all the female soldiers were supposed to have left by 10 a.m. on Thursday, but added that the military did not have a large enough aircraft to take their entire luggage.
The security sources also told SaharaReporters that Maimalari Barracks, home to the 7th Division of the Nigerian Army, is the only military base left standing in Borno State. Maimalari was described as the only military formation capable of withstanding a major attack from Boko Haram militants. One source said that Nigerian military intelligence had received information that Islamist militants were regrouping in areas around Maiduguri in preparation for a major offensive against the city.
The Islamist fighters' attempt to take over the state capital last week was foiled, with Nigerian troops and civilian vigilante members collaborating to kill more than 100 terrorists. However, the militants successfully overran Monguno Barrack, killing and injuring many soldiers.

Mathieu confirms Messi-Luis Enrique training-ground row
Barcelona defender Jeremy Mathieu has revealed that Lionel Messi and head coach Luis Enrique did have a training-ground argument earlier this month.
The prolific attacker has endured a difficult relationship with his coach ever since the latter's return to Camp Nou ahead of the 2014-15 campaign, but both have so far refused to discuss the matter publicly, with club president Josep Bartomeu repeatedly insisting there is no problem between the two.
However, Mathieu has revealed than an incident took place shortly after Messi had returned from his Christmas break, after which Luis Enrique benched the Argentine, for the 1-0 loss versus Real Sociedad.
"It happened when we got back from our holidays. Suddenly, Leo lost his temper after a foul that was not given in training," Mathieu toldRMC. "Things got tense and they exchanged some angry words.
"Luis Enrique then approached him in the dressing room afterwards to talk to him and that was the end of it."
Nevertheless, Mathieu was quick to stress that there has been no fallout and added that such incidents happen at every club.
"These kinds of things happen everywhere, but it's made out to be a major thing because we are Barcelona," the centre-half stated. "Things get blown out of proportion and that's the problem."
Irrespective of the ongoing speculation about his future at Barcelona, Messi has been a key figure for the Camp Nou side in 2014-15, scoring 31 goals in 29 appearances in all competitions.

Jagged Edge member arrested after forcing his fiancée to eat her engagement ring
According to Atlanta police, they were called to the home of Kylie Norman around 5am and when they got to the area, they saw a woman with "welts under her eyes, a golf ball-sized knot on her forehead, a cut to her nose and a blood clot in her right eye".
The woman was later identified at Norman's fiancee. She told police they'd been arguing about the details of their upcoming wedding when Norman attacked her, punched her, choked her with a scarf and then shoved her engagement ring down her throat.
Police say after the attack, Norman broke her phone and seized her car keys, refusing to let her leave the house. She said because she was scared for her life, she began to agree with everything he said in other to calm him down. When he was calm and walked away from her, she took his phone and ran out of the house to a neighbour's house where she called the police.
"She stated that she began to agree with things that he was saying in an attempt to calm him down," the officer who was at the scene wrote. "While doing that he turned around and walked away inside their loft and she ran and grabbed his cell phone and was able to run outside and awake a neighbor who let her inside."Norman was immediately arrested and he later toldpolice he was upset about his dad having cancer and that's the reason he got so mad at his fiance.
He's currently being held at the Fulton County Jail on a charge of aggravated assault.

Omonigho Abraham, Boy Attacked by Dogs Returns from India (Photo)
Praise God! Guys, Omonigho Abraham, the four year old boy who was attacked by dogs in the Igando area of Lagos State, has returned into the country from an India medical trip.
Omonigho returned into Nigeria on Thursday, yesterday, with his father, Odia, and mother, Helen, who went with him on the trip.
Last year, October 7, 2014, the young boy was attacked by two dogs at their house on Adegboyega Street, Akesan Estate. Omonigho was playing with his two brothers, Osemudiamen and Bobby, when the dogs, owned by their landlord, pursued them.
While the others escaped because they were older, the dogs bit off Omonigho's scalp and dragged
him around. Policemen and residents who came around could not rescue him until his mother arrived at the scene and fought off the dogs.
PUNCH had reported that his stay at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, was marred by complaints of neglect and at a point, his father raised the alarm that Omonigho's condition had worsened.
In December, Odia announced that the Delta State Government and a non-governmental organisation, Global Initiative for Peace, Love and Care had concluded plans to fly him to India.
An alternative plan by the Lagos State Government was turned down by the victim's family, who said the India travel plan had been concluded.
The four-year-old departed for India on November 28, 2014 despite concerns by the Lagos State Commissioner of Health, Mr. Jide Idris, that his condition was delicate and needed special attention.
When PUNCH Metrospoke with the family during the week while they were still in India, the mother said there were improvements in her son's condition. She added that the family would be arriving Lagos on Thursday.
His father, Odia, on Thursday later told the newspaoer that the family finally arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport around 2pm. He said:
"We touched down at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport around 2pm. We are on our way home now. The doctors in India have completed their job. My boy is back to normal. I thank God that everything is okay."He appreciated the efforts of the Delta State Government, the NGO and the media for the attention given to his son. He also acknowledged the support of the Lagos State Government during his admission in LASUTH.

Woman who lived with Jonathan in his teenage days Reveals things u don't know about him
He was nicknamed 'Aguduma" by his peers in primary school.
Madam Emilia Ajie, from Ogbaru area of Anambra State, who happened to be his land lady at that time at the Kalabari Beach, in Oguta 11, has now revealed quite a lot about him to Sun Newspaper.
Back then, Goodluck who lived with his uncle, popularly called Chief was always ill-treated.
According to her, his uncle never bought him school books, sandals or other things he needed for school.
She further said that Jonathan was always the last, among the pupils who lived in the compound, to go to school daily because of house chores he must complete every morning.
Read her revealing Narration below:
"Goodluck is a very quite and respectful person, even in the face of hardship inflicted on him by his uncle, who was popularly called Chief and we always felt sorry for him because of the way his uncle was treating him. They were then living in our boys' quarters. His uncle's son usually did nothing. It was Goodluck, who did everything in the house, including cooking.
At the end of the civil war, in 1970, Goodluck's uncle, left with his wife, who was from Izombe, for their hometown, he had left behind his son and Goodluck because they were still in school and had promised to come back for them. But after his son finished his primary school, Chief sent for him and left Goodluck behind,"
A frightening accident he had:"one day, while Goodluck was still living in our compound, he had gone to pluck mango with other young boys, but fell from the tree and as I was returning from the market I heard children shouting that 'Aguduma' had fallen off the mango tree and I quickly rushed to scene and used my head-tie to bind his fractured right hand.My husband's brother, popularly known as Ajasco, who was returning from the farm, had carried him (Jonathan), with the assistance of other children and took him to a popular traditional bonesetter in the neigbourhood, called Nwanyiogu from Mgidi but married to Kalabari man.And while he was receiving treatment for his injured hand, we were always bringing him food because both his uncle and the son had gone back to their hometown. He left Oguta in 1972 and I have not set eyes on him again nor heard anything about him. I only got to know that Jonathan had become the president of Nigeria when I saw, in 2011 an Almanac bearing his photograph "Look at Goodluck!"
