JUST IN! Protesters Set Burkina Faso Parliament ablaze! [Photos]

Anti-government protesters in Burkina Faso have set parliament ablaze in a surge of violence that forced the government to at least temporarily scrap a vote on constitutional amendments that would allow President Blaise Compaore to extend his 27-year rule.
At least one person was killed in Thursday's violence, according to news agencies.
Hundreds of people broke through a heavy security cordon and stormed the National Assembly building in the capital Ouagadougou, ransacking offices and setting fire to cars, before attacking the national television headquarters.
Police had tried to control the crowds using tear gas, but the demonstrators were able to push through the barricades and make their way into parliament.
The crowd then headed towards the presidential palace as a government helicopter flew overhead, shooting teargas at protesters.
Security forces fired live rounds and tear gas at protesters near the presidency in the Ouaga 2000 neighbourhood, Reuters reported.
Lawmakers had been due to vote on Thursday on a government plan to change the constitution to allow Compaore - who took power in a coup in 1987 - to stand for re-election again next year, when he was due to stand down.
Most deputies had not yet arrived for the vote when protesters, who had set up barricades outside parliament from early on Thursday, stormed the building.
The government, facing its worst crisis since a wave of mutinies shook the country in 2011, later announced it was calling off the vote but it was not immediately clear if this was a temporary move.
State television was ransacked and forced off the air.
The ruling party headquarters in Burkina Faso's second city of Bobo Dioulasso and city hall was also torched by protesters, witnesses told the AFP news agency.
"The president must deal with the consequences," said Benewende Sankara, one of the leaders of the opposition which had called for the people to march on parliament over the Compaore law.
Burkina Faso is typically known for relative stability and economic growth in a volatile region, but tensions have been rising ahead of the vote, which the European Union had warned could jeopardise stability.

You go girl! 'My boyfriend said I was too fat for sex so I dropped 30 stone - and him'

A cruel comment from her boyfriend during a romantic getaway made 22 year old Paige Way to drop from a whopping size 28 to a size 12. Paige said her boyfriend told her that belly was too fat for them to have sex. The comment from her boyfriend shamed her into shedding a lot of weight.
"It was absolutely mortifying when my boyfriend told me that my belly was getting in the way, but it gave me the push I needed to finally do something about my weight. I'd always been big as a child, and then I was 'the fat one' in my bunch of friends. Men would say horrible things about me on nights out, like "God, look at the size of her."
"I had no confidence whatsoever, but I tried to kid myself that I was happy being fat. Even when I broke a sun lounger at a family barbeque by sitting on it, I just laughed it off. However, when my boyfriend made that comment, I knew I couldn't kid myself any longer."So for the next eight months, Paige worked on her weight, exercising and eating small portions of healthy food. By the time she'd lost all the weight, she dumped the man that felt she wasn't good enough. Now she says losing weight has completely changed her life and she's single again and looking for Mr Right
"Every time I think back to the night at the hotel, it makes me cringe. But it made me make a change. Now I'm happier than I've ever been - and I definitely haven't had any complaints about my belly since!"Source: UK Mirror

Boko Haram On Fire: Takes Over Military Headquaters and the 2nd Biggest Town in Adamawa

Fighting between Nigerian troops and Boko Haram insurgents escalated in Mubi, Mararaba Mubi and Uba all in Adamawa State on Wednesday.
Mubi, the second largest town in the state and host of two high institutions, was the worst hit.
A parent, Ahmad Sajoh, whose daughter is studying at the Adamawa State University, said that as of 2pm on Wednesday, the police barracks in the Government Reservation Area was overrun by the insurgents while the prison in the town was blown open.
According to Sahara Reporters, the dreaded Boko Haram insurgents took over the headquarters of the 234 battalion in the town.
The situation is so bad that banks are on the run, moving their cash to the state capital, Yola.
Sources say Boko Haram decided to launch a massive attack on Uba in the Michika-Madagali area of the state in response to sustained aerial bombardment of their hideouts by security forces...
According to Punch, casualty figures could not be obtained as of 8pm but the development forced the state government to impose 24-hour curfew on the affected communities.
Residents said they saw a large number of insurgents at Mararaba, about seven kilometres from Mubi.
Sajoh told Punch that his daughter called to inform him about the development in Mubi.
He said, "This morning, I got a call from my daughter who is a 200-level student. She was hysterical. I was in Abuja for a meeting, but her information forced me to head back to Yola immediately.
"I ordered her to leave the hostel and join her cousins to escape the town. I called my father who confirmed the story. By the time I arrived at Yola airport, the town had fallen to the insurgents.
"My parents are trapped while my daughter and her cousins are missing. We have lost contact for six hours."
Sajoh, who was director of Press and Public Affairs to former Governor Murtala Nyako, added:
"Mallam Iliyasu of the Bursary Department of the state university, who is trapped in the town said by 2pm, the Police Barracks in the GRA was overrun by the insurgents, the prison was blown open while fighting was going on at the army barracks. The IDP camp at Lamorde area was thrown into confusion.
"The new rulers of the town had issued a decree banning entry and exit to the town. Students who trooped to the motor park were stranded with most taking refuge in any house that could welcome them.
"The barracks are the least safe locations in the town. So far, there are no reported cases of killings or abductions. But fear and apprehension have taken over."
There are fears of humanitarian crisis if the town "fall" into the hands of the insurgents. A fleeing resident, Joshua Gajere, said several people might have been killed during the shootings that lasted for almost two hours in Uba and other villages.
He said, "We are in serious trouble as these boys (Boko Haram) have taken over our towns, splitting into groups and advancing towards Mararaba, Mubi and Vintim, the home town of the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marshal Alex Badeh. They made the Nigerian troops to retreat to Mubi".
Gajere added, "As I am talking to you now, residents are scampering for safety. 'Mubi has now become a ghost of itself as people in their hundreds are fleeing for their lives."
