There are reports from eyewitnesses that multiple bomb explosions have rocked the commercial town of Potiskum in Yobe State tonight. Two of the explosions reportedly occurred in two different mosques where Muslim faithfuls were observing the last congregational prayer for the day. One of them is the popular mosque called Kalli Alkali Mosque, very close to the palace of the Emir of Potiskum. About 50 Muslim worshipers are feared dead.
The bombs believed to have been planted by Boko Haram terrorists went off in some parts of the town at about 7:30pm. Details of the blasts are still sketchy.
